The Company will offer an electronic logging device (ELD) with advanced features for use in the commercial trucking industry. The ELD mandate, issued by the Federal Motor Carrier Safety Administration (FMCSA) in 2016, was designed to ensure proper HOS compliance and overcome issues with the inaccuracy of paper logs. The ELD mandate affects millions of commercial drivers, particularly as the regulations apply to the drivers of both trucks and buses in the United States, as well as drivers who reside in Canada and Mexico.
The Company’s ELD will not only enable owner-operators and fleet managers to comply with the ELD mandate and HOS rules but will also provide a range of additional features that serve to further improve road safety, increase efficiency, reduce costs, and advance sustainability. As well as capturing data on date and time, location, miles traveled, and engine diagnostics, the Company’s ELD will also offer additional services like geofencing, inspection reports, messaging, and real-time GPS monitoring, in addition to International Fuel Tax Agreement (IFTA) reporting and fuel optimization features.
Furthermore, as the Company is committed to developing programs that incentivize users to utilize special CO2 emission reduction technologies within their trucks, its activities will further advance sustainability within the commercial trucking industry. The Company’s ELD will not only incentivize the use of these technologies but will also propose alternative methods to reduce fuel consumption. The Company’s innovative ELD will be offered as an application via a subscription model.
